Laurie Mapp

Laurie Mapp

Hi,and thanks for checking out the site for my virtual legal assistant business, Halo Secretarial Services.  I’m Laurie Mapp, and right now I’m CEO (chief everything officer!) of this lovely enterprise.

I have a long history as an in-office legal assistant/paralegal. Soon after I received my honors diploma in paralegal studies in 1993, I began my career working as legal secretary for a sole practitioner for a few years, then worked as a legal assistant in a large lawfirm and finally as both a legal assistant and then paralegal for a governmental legal department. I’ve worked in several areas of law including family, civil litigation, real estate, corporate and tax law. While on maternity leave after the birth of my third child, I began the process of opening my virtual paralegal/legal assistance practice, Halo Secretarial Services, up for business.

On a personal note, I’m a mama to 3 wonderful boys, and I share my life with an amazing and and supportive husband. I love blogging so much that I keep a mama/running blog, in addition to my business blog, feel free to check it out here.

Outside of work and family I have many interests, including running, triathlons, reading, and being President of ICAN Canada – if you are local see here for Edmonton VBAC).
